Honouring the Impact of Remarkable Leadership with Vanessa Lancaster and Rhiannon Adams

As the Lois Hole Hospital Women’s Society steps confidently into the next chapter under the new leadership of Co-Chairs Toni Hueston and Georgia Miller, we take a moment to reflect on the extraordinary impact of the leaders who helped build the foundation they stand on today.

For nearly a decade, Vanessa Lancaster and Rhiannon Adams have poured their time, talent, and hearts into this cause. As founding members of the Women’s Society, their dedication has been instrumental in shaping a community committed to advancing women’s health, one act of generosity at a time.

Over the past two years as Co-Chairs, Vanessa and Rhiannon guided the Society with clarity, compassion, and an unwavering belief in the power of women supporting women. Their leadership has been nothing short of transformative, strengthening the Society’s mission, broadening its reach, and deepening its impact.

From Vision to Momentum

One of their proudest milestones? Surpassing $1 million raised in support of women’s health—an achievement made possible through innovative events, strategic partnerships, and a community brought together by purpose. But for Vanessa and Rhiannon, success has always been about more than numbers.

They prioritized authentic engagement, building spaces where donors, patients, volunteers, and local organizations could feel truly connected to the work. Behind the scenes, they ensured every voice was valued and every contribution celebrated.

Under their Leadership

Vanessa and Rhiannon championed initiatives that embodied the Society’s values of inclusion, innovation, and patient-centered care. They helped fund the NeoBlue Blanket System, ensuring that newborns with jaundice could receive intensive blue LED phototherapy without disrupting essential bonding.

Parting Wisdom from Two Changemakers

As they pass the torch, Vanessa and Rhiannon remain deeply committed to the future of the Women’s Society and offer heartfelt advice for the new Co-Chairs.

Rhiannon shared, “Keep your focus and remember who you're doing this for. If challenges arise, reflect on the accomplishments and stay proud of them. Continue to share your joy and enthusiasm because it's infectious and draws people in. Don't be scared of doing things differently—everyone has unique strengths, so do things your way.”

Vanessa added, “The best way to ensure a healthy future is to invest today. The Women’s Society is inclusive, offering opportunities to contribute through time, talent, or treasure. It's open to anyone seeking community connection and the chance to make a difference.”

These words are more than advice—they’re a call to action, and a reflection of the generous, inclusive spirit both women brought to every moment of their leadership.

A Lasting Contribution

Thanks to Vanessa and Rhiannon’s leadership, the Lois Hole Hospital Women’s Society is entering its next chapter with renewed energy, vision, and purpose. Their nearly ten years of commitment have left an enduring mark not only on the Society, but on the lives of countless women and families who have found care, comfort, and community through its work.
