Dr. Thomas Nakatsui and his wife, Melanie are long-time supporters of Lois Hole Hospital for Women, and Melanie Nakatsui is one of the co-founders of the Lois Hole Hospital Women's Society (LHHWS).
On March 8th, 2022, in celebration of International Women’s Day, the Nakatsui DermaSurgery #YEG Team officially kicked off their 2022 partnership with the Women’s Society with the guidance of the Community Engagement and Partnerships committee. They named the day “Purple Shirt Day in support of the LHHWS,” in an effort to create fruitful conversations with their patients about the endeavours taking place at the LHHWS, the Lois Hole Hospital for Women, and in women’s healthcare.
Melanie also wanted to celebrate their Nakatsui DermaSurgery Family and donated on behalf of their team members to become supporters of the LHHWS for one year.
“We are celebrating our Nakatsui DermaSurgery Family all the while supporting a Hospital dedicated to Women’s Health. What better way is there to be able to do both at the same time! We are so thrilled to continue supporting the Lois Hole Hospital Women’s Society and advocating for women’s health at Lois Hole Hospital for Women.” - Melanie Nakatsui
They plan to have monthly “Purple Shirt Days” where they celebrate women’s health to keep the conversation going all year long.
